With our appointment at civil affairs scheduled for two in the afternoon, we had the morning free to explore. We decided to head south to the nearby Confucius temple area, which we visited briefly last year in the pouring rain and I didn't remember as being very exciting. Today, however, the sun was shining and the place was hopping. We didn't actually go inside the temple, but the surrounding area was so colorful and interesting.
After perusing the food stands, we returned to our hotel, but Rose fell asleep along the way. So we propped her up in our room, and my mom did the laundry while I tried not to be impatient for 1:45to arrive.
