Forever Family Day

We knew our forever family day would be different with Eli than it was with Rose. First of all, we swapped out Ed and Annie for my mom and Rose. Secondly, since Eli is a toddler, we expected a stronger reaction than Rose's quiet retreat. Third, although Annie and Rose both filled the big sister role, we knew that Rose wouldn't be nearly as excited about Eli as Annie had been a year ago. We were proved right on all accounts.

When we got to civil affairs, Eli was sitting happily on his nanny's lap, but he started crying as soon as he saw us.
