Watch Shelah wax nostalgic... (again)

Just when I should be pumping myself up for the big week ahead of us, I realize that I'm going to miss this place. Yesterday morning, Lyn came to my house at 5am so we could run 15 miles (6 with our friend Rachelle) before Eddie had to be at work at 8am. So we ran, and unlike last week, when the sun was blazing and the humidity was a killer, it was dusky and cool and just a great run. I liked it so much, in fact, that I went out for six more miles after dinner. Once again, low-humidity, not too much sun, and just a perfect run.

Of course these low-humidity days don't happen often here in Houston, but when they do, I really like the place.

you can have all the low-humidity runs you like here! ;-)

of course you'll probably want to start running at like 4am. i did that for a while last summer. i was enchanted by the moonlight and the cool, dry air. i would have doc drop me off at skyline track on his way to the hospital and i did my laps there, and ran home. there are enough runners here that i'm sure you'll have no problems making fast friendships with other talented athletes like yourself.

T-five and counting! ♥

Hi Shelah,

Sorry to hear about the high humidity run. They are the worst but glad that you got through it. I'm not sure about the 4am runs but I guess it is better than being on a treadmill. Isn't it odd sometimes how leaving something makes you realize what it meant to you?

Sounds like a lovely run to say goodbye.
