It's September and still freakishly hot. When it's not pouring and hurricanes aren't threatening to send us packing, that is. But even though we're entering into the tropical equivalent of Chaucer's "April is the cruellest month" (where you expect the weather to get better and it doesn't), I found a reason to be happy that I live in the Lone Star state.
It's quite possibly the very best ice cream I've ever tasted. If you're like me and don't like strawberry ice cream, never fear. It's Blue Bell's awesome vanilla, with chocolate sauce, strawberries and these little strawberry-filled chocolate candies. Yum.

we have blue bell here in FL too... their banana split is TO DIE FOR!
Fozzie, born and raised in LA, loves him some Bluebell ice cream. I believe he eats a gallon of it each time we visit his folks.
mmm....that sounds DELISH!
blue bell is pretty darn good. and i agree, it is one of the few good reasons of being in texas. we get it at our commissary for just under $4 a gallon. good deal for such good ice cream..
mmm that sounds so good!
Oh yeah-when we lived in Louisiana that was about my favorite thing (the list was very, very short)
Have you been out to the creamery in Brenham? They used to do a tour and give you free ice cream at the end. Their ice cream is so good!
We love Texas. People are warm. The music and barbecue are great.
Speaking of music - there is a music video on www.youtube.com called
