Today is the last day of kindergarten, and the first day of Eddie's week off of work (yay!). My sister-in-law and her family are coming this weekend and staying for a week and the day before they leave my sister gets in town. A few days later, my sister, the kids and I are driving to Nashville and Chicago, where we'll stay for a week, then exchange my sister for my mom and come home by way of the St. Louis Zoo (the highlight of Bryce's summer). Then Eddie and I are going on a weekend getaway to San Antonio and my mom is staying for a few more days. A couple of days after she leaves, smartmama and her boys are coming to stay for a week (yay!). And by then June will be done. We have a busy July in store too, but I just can't think that far ahead.
So, what I'm saying is, don't expect me to be around much. Because even if I'm home, I'll be begging for my fair share of computer time. Bryce was awarded prize for "Best Researcher" in his kindergarten yesterday (once we explained to him what a researcher was he thought it was a pretty cool award) and he plans to spend all summer on the internet, firming up his plans for the zoo he's going to build when he gets done with college. So far we have a folder full of animal exhibits from other zoos he wants to copy for his own zoo. But knowing Bryce, his plans are far from done. So today, I must say farewell to eight hours a day when I don't have to know whether pygmy marmosets are nocturnal or diurnal or what kinds of fruits Bornean fruit bats eat.
