Title: Little Scarlet
Author: Walter Mosley
When I was reading Walter Mosley's Cinnamon Kiss a few months ago, there were reviews for Little Scarlet all over the back jacket. I had seen it in bookstores a few years earlier, but never managed to pick it up. I'm glad I finally did. I love Walter Mosley's jazzy writing style, learned from his descriptions of the Watts riots in LA in the 1960s, and felt like I gained a greater understanding of what it meant to be a black man living in that era. Even more than all that though, Little Scarlet is a fast-paced, engaging story.
