Maybe summer ain't so bad...

Bryce: at camp
Annie: at camp
Isaac: sacked out on the couch after swimming lessons and an hour of walking around the museum
Maren: sleeping peacefully in her crib

Love my kids, but an unexpected hour of silence is pretty darn nice.

you won't be when bedtime rolls around here tonight. Eddie is on call and after a 2-hour nap, Isaac is going to be a beast to get to sleep.

oh man... the peace! how lovely!

totally unrelated. i wanted to be like you... i tried running... by week three of couch to 5k, my knees hurt so badly i could cry. i think running is evil.

think i should try spinning? is that easier on the knees?

spinning is a lot easier on the knees. You might have IT band problems, which can be easily corrected through stretching and deep-tissue massage. Google it. But if it's the IT band, spinning can sometimes exacerbate the problem. Where does the knee hurt?

alissa, take heart. my knees killed me the first two weeks. There were times in those first weeks my shins hurt and burned soooo much I thought I would just sit down on the trail and cry. I kept running because I knew it was a long walk back to the car. :-{
But I learned to take breaks between runs and heal up.
Take Shelah's advice (I like spinning too); I'm a beginner and she's the pro who inspires me.
PS.As per Shelah's advice to me: Have you been fitted for shoes at a running store? That makes all the difference.

Kind of sounds like school! Did you find the free parking lot?

They gave out free passes to the garage, so I was able to park there. But they said it might fill up, so I have your super-secret free lot just in case!
