Yep, we've picked a name. Nope, it's not Eliza or Camilla.
So for the next 21 weeks:
- I'll be hoping that none of the five or six girl babies due before ours in our ward is given this name
- I'll be reminded at least 10 times by my mom that she loved both Eliza and Camilla (and she wonders why my brother and his wife don't share the name until the kid is born)
- We'll get at least 50 alternate suggestions from Eddie's dad (we've already had at least 10)
- Both of his brothers will tell us they think the name is weird (actually this has already happened)
- My mom will try to get me to use her name as a middle name
- I'll verify the gender at least once by ultrasound before I start buying personalized stuff
- Five people will ask me how to spell the name
- Another five will ask me how to pronounce it
- Eddie will worry about the alliteration between her first name and our last name
- Annie will decide at least three times that we absolutely must name her something else (like Cinderella or Ariel)
Yes, I know, I've been holding out on you. But here's the name-- let me know what you think (that is, of course, only if you love it, lol): Maren Kate.
