What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was impatiently waiting for my missionary to come home from his mission. He had been gone about 21 months and I think I had just learned that he and his family were taking a month-long tour of Europe to round out the mission. So basically, I was dying with anticipation. It was also about this time that an English professor at college asked me to be his teaching assistant for the upcoming fall semester of study abroad in London. Originally, in my excitement over aformentioned missionary's return, I told him no, but changed my mind about an hour later and ended up going. It all turned out great-- Eddie got home, we got engaged, I left for London, then we got married.
