Book #19: The Woods
Title: The Woods
Author: Harlan Coben
I'll admit it-- I've been in sort of a book slump lately. I don't know if it's because I read too much nonfiction in a row and got burned out, or if it's because of May sweeps and being glued to the television for hours every night, or if it's because nursing a baby while holding a hardcover book does a number on my wrists (and keeps the baby from falling asleep as I turn pages), but I just haven't been feeling my normal zest for reading lately. So what did I need to get me out of my literary slump? Some mediocre Harlan Coben.
Yeah, this newest Harlan Coben book, The Woods, is pretty much like all other Harlan Coben books-- a girl disappears in her prime and we don't know if she's dead or not. Sometimes his disappearing girls do end up dead, other times they don't. Anyway, I won't tell you what happened to the disappearing girl in this book. I probably won't remember myself by next week, since I read the whole book in a furious blur over the last few days. But it got me back in the reading groove, and for that, my friend Harlan, I am grateful to you.
