I have a sister-in-law who hates the color pink. She also has three little girls ages four and under. When her oldest was born, she resisted dressing her in any pink clothes, and my mom almost had a heart attack when Chloe showed up at their house wearing a navy blue and red snowsuit that was obviously made for a boy. Since Chloe was joined by two littler sisters, I think Patience has mellowed a bit, but you'd certainly never find a room like this one in her house:
We painted the walls the week we moved in. My mom spent three or four full days stenciling the 89 flowers that circle the walls. But Annie has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor, covered by a clashing quilt that had seen better days (like my college days). This cute quilt, the idea for which we stole from Pottery Barn Kids, has been sitting in the closet until we had the money to buy her a bigger bed. Yesterday we bit the bullet and did it.
The idea is that Annie's room will be the guest room when we have company. Annie loves her room, but I'm not sure that her grandparents and aunts and uncles will appreciate the candy-floss confection quite as much as she does.
And since I was already taking pictures, here are a few more to give you an idea of what we really use the treadmill for in our house:
Who needs dress up clothes when you can dress up in Mom's clothes?
